Using Bloom's Taxonomy To Move Your Students Through The Learning Process

Bloom's Taxonomy isn't just something you hear about in teacher training classes and then forget about it.

At least that shouldn't be the case!

Use the directive words for the various Bloom's categories to help you guide student understanding to higher and higher levels, as appropriate.

Personally, I like to use this handy flip chart to remind me of the key words I should use during lessons.

I agree, Bloom’s is great! However, the revision of the original Bloom’s is even better. It actually is a two-dimensional model featuring the cognitive and knowledge dimensions. The new model is beneficial to teachers who want to ensure they are implementing an aligned standards-based curriculum. This new book is titled “A Taxonomy for Learning, Teaching, and Assessing.”
