Your Summer: To Do List or Trashy Novel?

Every summer we teachers have a decision to make:

Should we spend the majority of our time relaxing by a body of water recuperating from our challenging jobs? Or, should we keep the productive momentum going and teach summer school, read professional development books, and take graduate level courses?

This summer: should you rest and recuperate, or should develop your skills?

What are you summer plans?

Inadvertently or not you have brought up an important issue that should be discussed more openly. You stated to take a break if “an unfair administrator has been on your back for six months or more, making your days a living hell”. I think it is a shame that teachers have to put up with this and unfortunately many do without any recourse.
