What Are You Reading This Summer?

Wednesday June 4, 2008
What books are on your nightstand (or in your beach bag) this summer?

If you're recovering from a rough year, I recommend Not Quite Burned Out, but Crispy Around the Edges: Inspiration, Laughter, and Encouragement for Teachers.

And just for fun, I think you should pick up the new David Sedaris book When You Are Engulfed in Flames

Any other recommendations, teachers?

As an elementary librarian I’m reading all the time! Professional reading: Whatever It Takes by DuFour.
Fun reading: The First Lady of Arlington by Perry.

Professional reading - “In the Middle” by Nancie Atwell. Personal - anything I can get my hands on, usually whatever I find at a garage sale or library sale!

Han Nolan is a writer whom I have just discovered and her latest, “A Summer of Kings” (Young adult) is excellent and thought provoking–as are all her books.
