Nobody's perfect. But if you've spent the summer reflecting upon what worked well and what didn't in your classroom last year, you surely will be making some corrections as the new school year starts.

I agree with your #1 mistake - AVOID BURNOUT! I have had a hard time with that in past years. One of my goals this year is to stay motivated. One other mistake that I would add is not surrounding yourself with positive colleagues.
i agree wholeheartedly in both areas. I often find as the holidays are upon us in Dec I start thinking abt summer vacation n become very restless in my class room. However my intention this year is to take some classes to keep things fresh. A=s far as my peers I try to stay away from the negative although sometimes its hard due to our work environment. I due believe with the new endeavours that I plan to persue this should keep me quite busy and no time for small talk.
