Teaching the Scientific Method

When you teach the Scientific Method to your students, you are helping them gain valuable critical thinking skills. As the students practice forming hypotheses and analyzing data, they are learning to look at the world in a whole new way.

I teach the scientific method by exploring the concept of Gravity – recreating the famous experiments of Newton with different sized objects.

My 5th graders loved learning the scientific method by learning the steps to the tune of a Nelly song. Now, we go through the steps any time we do a scientific inquiry.
