How to Encourage Good Behavior Through Class Meetings

Friday November 7, 2008
Do you hold weekly class meetings?

If not, you might want to look into Class Meetings as an easy and effective way to foster a cooperative classroom environment. You can even teach your students how to clear the air and forgive each other after disagreements on the playground.

My students love class meetings so much that they remind me to hold one, if we get busy with other things or if it slips my mind. My favorite meeting activity revolves around expressing gratitude. I think that is such an important habit to teach my students, and it doesn't take very much time at all.

I think class meetings are a great idea! This is a great way to encourage students to continue their good behavior, or encourage them to have better behaviors. I think these meetings are a great way to praise the students. By praising the children, it can help boost their confidence and self-esteem. Class meetings are a great way to teach listening manners and respect toward others. It is also a great way to resolve conflicts among students and their peers.
