lesson planWhat is a thematic unit? A thematic unit is a series of lesson plans (activities) that integrate all subjects around one main, central theme. Teachers use thematic units to compact the curriculum, and help students make connections. I find that unit plans save me a lot time because they incorporate all subjects. I also love to create cooperative learning activities and incorporate learning centers into the unit.

Much obliged for your column! Great ideas but I cannot stand the forum. One has to click several times to read the tips rather than simply reading one complete article, it’s really annoying! Or maybe I am missing something!

What browser are you using? If you want to read one complete article then when you are on the blog, just click “learn more” and it will take you there. If you are referring to the education forum, that is where users post questions and get answers on various educational topics. You will not find any articles there unless, someone posts them. I hope that helps:)
