The USDA announced today that they will make a commitment to ensure that all students have healthy food options at school. Some of the highlights of the proposal include:
- Having healthy snack food options available
- Providing snack foods that are more nutritious
- Targeting beverage portion size and caffeine intake
Here you will find additional highlights and access to the whole proposal by the USDA.

I have provided a thematic unit on nutrition to help teachers educate their students and give them the tools to make healthy choices.
What is your school doing to promote healthy eating? Do they serve healthy meals for lunch? Find out what other teachers are saying in the education forum.
