The USDA announced today that they will make a commitment to ensure that all students have healthy food options at school. Some of the highlights of the proposal include:

  • Having healthy snack food options available
  • Providing snack foods that are more nutritious
  • Targeting beverage portion size and caffeine intake

Here you will find additional highlights and access to the whole proposal by the USDA.

With the child obesity rate so high, It's important to engage your students with informative information on nutrition. Teach them about the new food plate and give them the knowledge they need to make healthy food choices. I have provided a thematic unit on nutrition to help teachers educate their students and give them the tools to make healthy choices.

What is your school doing to promote healthy eating? Do they serve healthy meals for lunch? Find out what other teachers are saying in the education forum.

Amazing! This blog looks exactly like my old one!
It’s on a totally different subject but it has pretty much the same layout and design. Wonderful choice of colors!

IE still is the market chief and a huge part of other people will leave out your great writing because of this problem.
