It seems like all I hear about these days is the Common Core State Standards. My son's school just fully implemented them this year, and a lot of readers have been asking me questions about them. I have taken all of the questions I have received via email, and answered them in a new article titled Get Answers: What is the Common Core? If you still have any questions feel free to email me or leave a comment in the section below.

Does your state implement the core standards? What do you think about them? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

(1) Dale says:

This like most things in Education is distructive. Unless they write the lesson plans and tell us what they want students to know, knowing full-well that not all students are the same, teachers will work hard at the guessing game and fail. The companies that are pushing this are out to make money. They will not have jobs when they get what they want because Americans will not work for the same wages as the rest of the world. With No Child Left behind, we left all children behind. The responsibility of learning is on the child and his/her parents. Until that is understood and accepted, our schools will continue to decline.
