Invite The Magic of Harry Potter Into The Classroom

And Watch Your Students' Enthusiam Soar!

By , About.com Guide

Harry Potter is the most famous fictional boy in the world. And most children adore JK Rowling's intriguing tales about the boy wizard and the evil Lord Voldemort.

If you're anything like me, you were skeptical at first about the quality of JK Rowling's magically bestselling books. But, like millions of kids all over the world, Harry Potter cast an unbreakable spell on me as I devoured each of the six books as soon as I could. I even stood in line at a midnight release party at my local bookstore in order to be among the first to get the latest Harry Potter last summer!

So, what is it about Harry Potter that makes him so impossible to ignore? The potion consists of richly and beautifully written books, lovably real characters, thrilling plot lines, and classic fairy tale themes.

If you are interested in transforming the palpable excitement about the Harry Potter movie and books into literature lessons in your classroom, the following resources will help you do it. Keep in mind that some parents may object to you teaching Harry Potter in your classroom due to their viewpoints on the themes of wizardry. I would recommend checking with parents before spending a significant amount of time on Harry and his friends.
