The third step of the reading lesson plan is to write the overview and purpose of the lesson. This is where you outline what you will be teaching and what will be beneficial to the students during the lesson. This step should come after you choose the reading strategies but before the educational standards.
The purpose of this step is to create a summary of what the reading lesson is all about. Give a general outline of what you plan on doing during the lesson.
This lesson introduces students to descriptive writing. They will read the book, 100th day of school. Then practice descriptive writing by writing a short description of what they will bring in on the 100th day of school. This activity will provide the students with knowledge on how to write descriptively.
