Sometimes it can seem easier to just show up and teach than to prepare everything that's necessary for a substitute teacher to take your place. That's why it's important to plan ahead and have an organized routine in place for emergencies and unexpected absences. How do you make sure that substitute teachers can feel comfortable and productive in your classroom?

Accountability

Seating charts, student id pictures,or nametags help both the sub and the kids. For the sub, they feel more in charge knowing everyone’s name. On the other side, students feel accountable for their actions rather then anonymously trying to get away with things, good or bad!
