Writing New Years Resolutions With Your Students

As adults, we know that writing New Years resolutions is the easy part; it's keeping them that is a true challenge. Still, I think it's productive and appropriate to write New Years resolutions with your students. It's a writing lesson that teaches children how to aspire, plan, and strive toward practical, self-determined goals.

While we're on the subject, what is your teaching-related New Years resolution for 2009? One of mine is to maintain a tidier desk. We'll see how I do...
