For many years now, teachers around the globe have flocked to the Pen Pals folder of the Elementary Education Forum in order to easily pair up with partner classrooms with whom exchange letters. I am still partial to pencil-and-paper letters, especially in this digital age. I love introducing the old fashioned feel of stamps and envelopes to my students.
It's fairly simple to set up a Pen Pal program, even if you've never done it before. The benefits are many; exchanging letters meets a wide variety of curriculum standards plus it's truly fun and enlightening for your students.
